I wanted to share this conversation I had recently on Facebook. I deleted the other commenter’s name to protect their privacy. The things she is saying really scare me though. I don’t watch a lot of news, in fact the only thing I do watch is PBS or CBS Sunday Morning and that is rare. I try to listen to NPR as much as I can so I’m really not familiar with what is being broadcast on main stream media. The only stuff I know about is what I see on people’s Facebook pages, and the headlines I see on Yahoo.

So to hear that this person thinks that my salvation is tied to whether or not I support President Obama is really disturbing. Is this what is being taught by Glen Beck and Fox news? What are the implications of that for the Republican party and for this country’s political system as a whole?

As a disclaimer…this is the first political conversation I have ever had with this person. I have made a few political statements on my page but not very many.

Okay, the first comment was my status update that I wrote after I watched a video of Glen Becks, that in my opinion, reminded me of a fascist dictator. However it was really a sarcastic statement to poke fun of all the people who are comparing President Obama to Hitler. The responder is the same person every time.

Jill Glen Beck not only looks like Hitler on his book he sounds like him too. Scary.

I am sorry but he is telling it like it is. It is BAD and SAD NO one is listening. When it is to late then they will All listen!!! Do You Guys Read Your BIBLE, IT TELLS YOU WHATS GOING TO HAPPEN AND IT IS HAPPENING NOW!!!! YOU BETTER GET READY.

This is deleted daughter. Hitler never used the Bible as propaganda. You can look that up in a History book, the internet, whatever you want. But you won’t find it because it isn’t true. If your going to say something, you should make sure it’s true first. =)

And the reason he burn them was because he did not want the people to read them. Just so you know Obama is like Hitler, he has to be on the T.V. or radio EVERYDAY just like Hilter did. You better watch out and when all hell bracks loose you were warned. And by the way I am Not a nazi like you called me up there. I am one of Gods children. God has warned all of us what is going to happen and it will happen soon. I choose to fellow Jesus who do you do you choose???

Obama is the one who hates all of us, so dose his wife. They hate Our Country they even said so on LIVE T.V. you must of missed that part. So they are the ones who are SCARY!! O ya and he is for Killing Babys. So who is the one who really hates here. Guess you think it is okay for them to that too. By the way if you don’t like someone and what they stand for you can do it without hating them. You said I hate, NO I hate what he is doing.
You on the other hand are saying you hate everyone who dosen’t agree with you. Jesus is coming back soon and that is what I believe in. I DO NOT BELIEVE IN Obama at all they all lie everyone of them. JESUS IS THE TRUTH AND LIFE AND WAY KNOW ONE WILL GO UNLESS THEY BELIEVE ON HIM, GODS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON. And you have to BELIEVE or else you get left behind in all the mess that is going to happen and it is going to be a very bad mess and I am not going to be here when it happens because God told me so. Watching the debates as a family

mccain 300x227 Watching the debates as a family I have had a great time this past year following the election and learning about the candidates. Even though Eva is too young to understand what is going on I have loved watching the debates and conventions with her and my husband. Four years from now she will be 5 and will have a little bit more of an awareness. I plan to carry on this tradition in order to teach her how important voting is and being educated on the issues.

Hopefully she will be inspired to run for political office herself one day. I read this blogpost today and was sad to learn that my daughter will not be able to be president if she wanted to. I thought there was some clause that made it possible for internationally adopted children but apperently not.
