newspaper Love Sundays

Sundays are for sipping coffee, cutting coupons, and CBS Morning News.
Sundays are for hanging out in our pajamas until noon, reading the paper, making banana pancakes.
Sundays are for being lazy but also for tying up loose ends.
Sundays are for the daddy to change the poopy diapers.
Sundays are for two year olds to spend hours playing with the change jar.
Sundays are for doing what you love with the ones you love.

Marley & Me

pedro1 Marley & MeLast night we snuck out of the house to see a movie (Thanks Mom). We ended up seeing Marley & Me because I always wanted to read the book but never got around to it. After getting through the first half hour, which I mostly already saw through previews, it turned out to be a great movie. I came home last night and hugged my dog a little bit tighter. This movie embodies that love/hate relationship we all have with our dogs and how that relationship changes when you have kids, and then grows even stronger as the kids grow older. It‘s not just a movie about a dog though it really is a movie about marriage and kids. How your marriage changes and grows stronger through time and how when you first have kids you say to yourself “What the heck did I get myself into?” But as time goes on you get better at being a partner and a parent, actually you just get better overall.
I am still in that beginning stage of parenting where I am still trying to figure this all out and this was a good reminder to me that….Yes, things do get better.

One of my favorite children’s books is Good Night Moon, by Margaret Wise Brown.  It is a classic and if you don’t already have it get it!

Eva love’s this book and wants me to read it everynight before she goes to bed.  I love it too, the illustrations are amazing as if the moonlight is acutally there on the page.  Eva love’s saying good night to all of the items in the room and then we go around and say goodnight to everything in her room right before she goes to bed.  It works like a charm!

Someone showed this to me yesterday and I think it is really cool.  I love Supernanny, she has some really great ideas and her website is very helpful.  It is especially great for people like me who are not the most crafty.
