I cannot tell you how frustrating it is that I’ve been doing my new workout program for 1 week now and I have GAINED a pound. What the hell?! Seriously?! I’ve been eating healthy meals even though I’ve had some snacks or dessert over the weekend but I figure with me working out I should at least be burning off those extra calories and maintaining my weight if anything. I mean I know I’m not eating worse then when I first started this a week ago. So what’s up with my body? Does it just hate me? Ughh, I just hate not knowing what the deal is. I guess this is where I have to just stick to my plan and see where I’m at 2 months from now.
We had a great time this weekend. It seems like everyone is in that summer mindset and it was great just hanging out with family and friends. Friday night we got together with some people who taught us how to play Euker. I’ve never played before but it is fun and addicting. Chris wanted to play again so Sunday night some friends of ours from Indiana came over and we played again. It seems like a game most people on the East side of the country know how to play but not so much out here in the West for some reason. Saturday we went to see my sister in Tuscon, and Monday my parents had a bbq. So ya we have been super busy and it will be nice just to relax this week.
This weekend was a great start to our summer. Even though I’m not looking forward to the heat and my electric bill I am looking forward to doing all kinds of fun things with Eva and my nieces and nephews. Today we are heading over to the library for the summer reading program, tomorrow we are going to the theater for the summer movie program, and I’m sure there will be lot’s of pool or splash pad time this week as well.
How excited was I today when I opened my web browser and this article popped up at me on Yahoo

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama named federal appeals judge Sonia Sotomayor as the nation’s first Hispanic Supreme Court justice on Tuesday, praising her as “an inspiring woman” with both the intellect and compassion to interpret the Constitution wisely.
Obama said Sotomayor has more experience as a judge than any current member of the high court had when nominated, adding she has earned the “respect of colleagues on the bench,” the admiration of lawyers who appear in her court and “the adoration of her clerks.”
“My heart today is bursting with gratitude,” Sotomayor said from the White House podium moments after being introduced by Obama.
