Whenever I fall asleep with a bad headache I have disturbing nightmares like this one.

For some reason (in my dream) I can’t remember why, but for some reason I was supposed to “off” both myself and my baby girl.  I know. Disturbing.  Like I said, I’m not entirely sure why I was supposed to do this but I’m gonna blame this twisted plot on too much Stephanie Meyer.  So, in my dream I ordered a bomb that was delivered in the mail, when it came all I had to do was add water and then hit it with a baseball bat to detonate it.  There I was, standing in my kitchen, with the box on the island, I added water, and then something happened.  Either I couldn’t do it or something changed and I didn’t have to.  At this point I was too scared to touch the box for fear it would blow up so I just left it there for Chris to deal with when he got home.  But I forgot to tell him about it it so it stayed there until we went to bed, and then woke up in a panic in the middle of the night because, there was a bomb in the kitchen!  And, like, Eva might wake up and find it.

This is when I woke up for real and had to remind myself that it was just a dream, an awful awful dream.

Any of you dream experts out there want to take a stab at this one?

Actually, I already have a few theories of my own but feel free to add yours.

1. I have an irrational fear that Eva will wake up in the middle of the night and peruse around the house and find something to hurt herself on.

2. Chris will find out about the clothes I ordered online when the box is delivered to our house, and when he sees it he will BLOW up like a bomb.

3. I’ve been watching too much Twilight and New Moon and the suicidile themes are creeping into my dreams.

Number 2 is actually pretty funny because Chris is so not the type to blow up about anything especially not me buying something.

On another note.

Happy Thanksgiving!

On another another note.

It’s black Friday in 4 more hours and I know you think I’m crazy but I’m heading out at midnight this year!  Ahhhh.  I’ll let you know if I’m still alive tomorrow.

If it was me, it would be number 2 for sure!

But it certainly could be a combination of 1 and 3, depending on what your subconscious is mulling over.

Mum’s often worry that they may leave something dangerous around for kids to find, purely because they don’t even realise. Things like matches for example – if you use them for something, then put them down rather than putting them away. Or a knife too close to the edge of the countertop, or the handle on a pot of boiling water, etc.

I know nothing about dreams other than that I have them sometimes :-) And, you are officially insane for going out at midnight for shopping!

Dreams help us deal with our realities. At least they are suppose to according to the experts. They (the experts) also tell us to pay attention more to the emotion the dream creates when we wake up more than the facts of the dream which would drive you crazy if you did try to understand any of them. I have had some lulus too. They wake me up feeling emotional. Your dad wakes up from a bad dream, I ask him are you upset? He says NO! Why would I be upset? So figure that out. It will drive me crazy!

It’s the goddamn Twilight, Jill. Burn them books. :)

    Heidi,
You always make me laugh. I’ve never been obsessed with a book like I have these. I think they’re voodoo.

    Keith,
Yes, maybe, but I didn’t regret it this year. I shopped for 8 hours and got a ton of stuff for great great prices and now all my Christmas shopping is done. My sisters and bil went with so that made it more fun too, it’s nice when you can tag team the lines.

I would say that the dream represents the need to change something in your life. Eva in the dream doesn’t necessarily represent your baby girl in waking life – in the dream she could represent anything you have created or your creative urge.

That is interesting Marcia. I love dream analysis. What about the fact that I didn’t create her? She was adopted. ;-)

I would go with your first theory. I do have the same problem (well, not exactly the same dream). I have had times where I wake up in a panic, and yes, I have checked to see if my little one is awake and wandering in the home by himself (which he doesn’t late at night!). I guess it seems like a security measure! Lol. I think it is just because we are so wrapped up in our children, that we even think of possible problems they might get into (even in our sleep!).

I thought of you this morning with your psychotic dream. I had an equally disturbing one last night. It didn’t involve anyone I know per-se, just a Japanese man chasing after a Japanese woman on the street I grew up on back in NY. At one point he stabbed her and she managed to flee on ALL FOURS like a wolf or something. I remember thinking, run harder, run faster, RUN! And then she burst into my old neighbor’s house, out of breath and bleeding, seeking refuge from the guy who was after her. They hid her under the floorboards, which managed to elude the guy for some time as he popped in and out of houses, including the one where she was hiding, looking for her.

Eventually, I willed myself to wake up. I have no idea what the dream means and I recognize no one in it except for the old guy who used to be my neighbor growing up.

So I take back what I said about Twilight. Crazy freaking dreams can happen to anyone.

Oh wow Heidi. I’m not even gonna TRY to figure that one out. I would love to see what a dream analyst has to say about it though. Those people always seem to come of up the most interesting stuff that I never would have been able to guess.

Ok I have an idea. Your dream is either about your laptop being stolen or about the book you want to write.
