Politricks
I wanted to share this conversation I had recently on Facebook. I deleted the other commenter’s name to protect their privacy. The things she is saying really scare me though. I don’t watch a lot of news, in fact the only thing I do watch is PBS or CBS Sunday Morning and that is rare. I try to listen to NPR as much as I can so I’m really not familiar with what is being broadcast on main stream media. The only stuff I know about is what I see on people’s Facebook pages, and the headlines I see on Yahoo.
So to hear that this person thinks that my salvation is tied to whether or not I support President Obama is really disturbing. Is this what is being taught by Glen Beck and Fox news? What are the implications of that for the Republican party and for this country’s political system as a whole?
As a disclaimer…this is the first political conversation I have ever had with this person. I have made a few political statements on my page but not very many.
Okay, the first comment was my status update that I wrote after I watched a video of Glen Becks, that in my opinion, reminded me of a fascist dictator. However it was really a sarcastic statement to poke fun of all the people who are comparing President Obama to Hitler. The responder is the same person every time.

Let’s clear something up RIGHT NOW.
All U.S. presidents are going to have some bad ideas, regardless of which political party they are in, but until they decide to kill 6,000,000 + people for having “inferior genes” let’s hold off on the name calling.
This is from a link/photo that was from one of my fb friends. I didn’t like Bush, I would NEVER compare him to Hitler and NO ONE should be doing that to Obama either.
Your conversation scares me too. I hope that it is the opinion of the minority, no matter how popular Glenn Beck is.

Ahahahahahaha! I love religious fanatics
D They make for such refreshingly obscure conversation! I’d like to meet the nutter daughter and take her on a trip to the history section of the library. Something tells me her idea of a history book it the Bible itself, and not a real reference book. I can’t stand Fox news. My opinion of it is very low, especially after seeing Out Foxed. I don’t understand why having a black man in office is indicative of the apocalypse to some people. It’s really ridiculous.

I agree with Amy’s comment. It is beyond absurd comparing any U S president to Hitler. Hysteria and fear has taken hold of many hearts. I believe God is in control. I also know people have free will. Our God loves us, cares for us and disciplines us. One of the things God does best is transforming my yielded life and therefore my future. If God is for me who can be against for the love of God has set me free as the song goes.

I have recently participated in a letter writing, petition signing, telephone call making campaign to get Glenn Beck off the air. He is a hate mongering, fear mongering a$$hole and he should not be allowed to spew the filth and garbage he does. I am 100% in agreement with the first amendment and I do not believe his rights should be taken away, just his access to the homes of 1,000s of illiterate people.
Let him spew his BS from the corner on a soapbox.
