Hmm, I just realized I never answered your question. I believe it was filmed in Portland OR and some in Forks, WA which is where the book is set. It’s supposed to be the wettest and most sun deprived city in the Country. Besides Alaska I’m sure. Did you like the book? I saw the movie but I have a feeling the book was better.

Jill: where was the movie filmed?

My best friend Ro left me a stack of Twilight books when she was out visiting months ago. I’ve yet to open one. I’m reading “Into the Wild” by Jon Krakauer. I hear ya on getting lost in the scenery of a place vastly different from where you live. This book is set, for the most part, in Alaska and I’m loving it! It’s like a jungle in St. Pete right now. Hot, rainy and STEAMY.

I thoroughly enjoyed the books, except what I call the ’smarmyness’ of them. At 42 I no longer believe that the love of a 17 year old is forever or to die for. And book #4 was both my favorite and my least favorite, so take that as you will.

But I didn’t have the total involvement in their lives that I do with some books. I have a physical ache everytime I finish the Harry Potter series, because I miss the characters so much.

I am always like that when I am reading a very good book. That is one of the reasons I am so picky about the books I read. I can be that way for me with a movie too. I would love to have a dream and turn it into a book. I read the book and dream about it. Farra is goofy about twilight also.

I read all four books between November and December last year (Christmas – GREAT timing) and felt pretty much the same way. We have a skylight in our bathroom and one cloudy day while I was in the shower, the light shifted. I could tell the sun was coming out, and I actually had the following thought, “Oh, no. Edward won’t be able to go outside today.” And then I remembered that he is NOT REAL.
