I went through the exact same thing just a couple of weeks ago and posted about it. It has been working perfectly for me so far. I actually let her pick a couple of toys to play with. Then when she wants something else I make her decide what gets put away. She puts that item away and then gets the other one to play with. Works like a champ. I definitely feel your pain. Good luck!
