It is my daughters job to take something from one room and put it into another room, then repeat 100 x’s throughout the day until the entire house is misplaced.
It is my hubby’s job (when asked to help) to put everything in one big pile and stuff it anywhere he can find.
This goes on day after day until everything is so misplaced that I can’t find anything.
It is my job to put everything back in it’s rightful place. That is what I did all day yesterday. I tried to put everything that had little parts back in its place so that it could STAY together and I could actually find things.
I can’t do it anymore though. This weekend I am going to this store and buying a ton of clear plastic storage containers in all different sizes. Then I am going to put all of DD’s toys in those containers. I am going to organize all the containers on the top of her closet and then get down ONE thing at a time for her to play with. That way I do not have an entire house with toys scattered everywhere.

Let me know of that works out for you! I read your story and wondered, “Hmm…has she been to my house?” The only difference was that I have a son and puppy to hide things instead of a daughter.

Too funny! I went through the exact same thing just a couple of weeks ago and posted about it. It has been working perfectly for me so far. I actually let her pick a couple of toys to play with. Then when she wants something else I make her decide what gets put away. She puts that item away and then gets the other one to play with. Works like a champ.
I definitely feel your pain. Good luck!

Great plan! Sometimes you really need to go out and buy some furniture to help you organize all your stuff. I always like to put everything in it’s own special container. It makes for a much more peaceful and organized life.

Good for you – you won’t be sorry! The Container Store has a little bit of everything, though, so plan to spend a lot of time looking!

Try having all 3! I keep hoping that with everyone constantly moving things to the wrong place, between the 3 of them, they’ll accidentally put everything back into the correct position!
