Okay so I missed yesterday’s blog trip topic which was about gas prices in my area. I am not too sad about skipping it because thinking about gas prices just makes me sad. It is about a 5 1/2 hour drive to my hometown in California but with gas prices lately I just can’t make the drive as much as I used to. Which means I can’t go to Disneyland as often and that makes me grumpy. ![]()
I am however very excited about todays topic which is about places to eat!!! If anyone knows me they know I love going out to eat and here in the Phoenix area there is A LOT to choose from. We have pretty much every chain restaurant there is because we tend to get both east coast, southern, and west coast chains.
There are so many I think I will just list them by category.
Italian
For pizza I love going to Salerno’s in Mesa, it is real Chicago pizza. But for pasta I love Carrabba’s Italian Grill, it is a chain but I love their bread, and the salads are good too. I always get the johnny rocko salad with shrimp and scallops. mmmmm
Mexican
Being in Arizona there are many Mexican restaurants, but one of my favorites is Chipotle, they have great tacos, burritos and burrito bowls and I know no matter what I get it is going to be good. They also try to be environmentally friendly so that is always a plus.
Dos Gringros Mexigrill is also a great place. They have a lively, fun atmosphere and great baja mexican food.
Sushi
Gotta Love it! Gotta Have it!
I used to frequent Tanked Fish when I worked in Phoenix because they have a great happy hour on Tuesdays! If you go try the Horns and Halo roll. It is addictive!
Since they opened a Blue Wasabi by me that is my new favorite place. Great atmospher, great drinks, and great sushi!
Sandwich Deli
There are many places to get a great sandwich around here, such as Paradise Bakery or Wildflower Bread Co. But for a “to die for” sandwich you must travel an hour and a half south to Tuscon for a place called Jimmy John’s. This is a chain that is more popular up north in places like Michigan and Wisconsin. A friend of mine from Wisconsin first introduced me and now I am hooked!
So as you can see there are plenty of good places to eat here in the Phoenix area. I am sure there are hundreds more that I haven’t even been to. Can’t wait to read about everyone else’s favorite places!

Thank you for visiting my blog. I appreciate everyone’s opinions; it makes up who we are.
It sounds like Phoenix has a lot of great eating places, and don’t we all like to eat.
